Designing the Visual Future: Opalescent Invitation Suite

The Event: For their 2019 Physicians' Awards Gala, SCPMG shifted their focus toward the "visual future." They needed an invitation suite that stepped away from standard corporate aesthetics, aiming instead for a unique formal gala look that felt entirely forward-thinking, luminous, and modern.
The Design Challenge: To capture this visionary theme, we centered the design around a new, cutting-edge opalescent paper stock. The creative challenge was to strike the perfect balance: maintaining the sophisticated, elevated elegance expected of a formal physician's gala while maximizing the visual pop and modern edge of the paper's prismatic sheen.
The Production Challenge: Working with highly specialized opalescent stock presents unique production hurdles. We had to ensure that the ink adhesion, typography, and design elements worked in seamless harmony with the reflective surface. The layout needed to maintain crisp readability across varying light angles, ensuring the prismatic qualities of the paper enhanced—rather than overwhelmed—the crucial event details.
Speeding Into the Future: Cinematic Branding

The Event: For the 2024 Physicians' Recognition Dinner, SCPMG wanted to look forward. The theme centered on "speeding into the future" and embracing what lies ahead. The event needed a visual identity that captured kinetic energy, innovation, and a bold departure from traditional gala aesthetics.
The Design Challenge: The core focus for this year's suite was driven entirely by dynamic graphic styling. We drew heavy inspiration from iconic sci-fi visual languages—the time-traveling motion of Back to the Future, the warp-speed star trails of Star Trek, and the vibrant, neon-drenched atmosphere of Blade Runner. To bring this to life, we built an immersive, high-contrast background featuring streaking cyan, magenta, and deep blue light rays to create a visceral sense of forward momentum and traveling at light speed.
Optimized Check-In Logistics: Managed the design, production, and sorting of 1,200 name badges by creating a streamlined rapid-distribution system for the admin team, eliminating check-in bottlenecks.
Crafting "A Taste of Baja": Wood Invitation Suite

The Event: For their 2018 Physicians' Awards Gala, SCPMG chose a vibrant "A Taste of Baja" theme. They needed an invitation suite that stepped away from traditional corporate gala aesthetics and immediately transported attendees to a rustic, coastal celebration.
The Design Challenge: To capture this rustic, organic feel, we decided to print the primary invitations directly onto rigid birch wood.
The Logistical Challenge: Designing the invitation was only half the battle. Mailing a rigid, non-bendable piece of wood at a high volume presents a massive logistical hurdle. We had to figure out how to mail these uniquely shaped, heavy items safely without breaking the client's postage budget or risking damage in transit.
Commemorating 70 Years: Metallic Invitation Suite

The Event: For 2023, SCPMG celebrated a monumental milestone: the 70th anniversary of their prestigious Awards Dinner. They required an invitation suite that felt both historic and highly celebratory, establishing a sophisticated tone from the moment it arrived in attendees' mailboxes.
The Design Challenge: To deliver a definitive "wow factor," we centered the entire suite around luxurious metallic papers. The core design inspiration was drawn directly from the milestone itself: the sharp, geometric lines of the number "7." We utilized this architectural shape to dictate the dynamic layout, bold angles, and unique format of the invitation, echoing this distinct "7" motif cohesively across every piece of event collateral.
The Production Challenge: Translating sharp, angular formats onto premium metallic stock requires rigorous precision. We had to ensure that the custom die-cuts and folds inspired by the "7" scored cleanly without cracking the specialized metallic finish. Additionally, we had to carefully manage the printing processes to guarantee ink adhesion and prevent scuffing on the reflective surface, ensuring every piece remained pristine from production to postage.

The COVID-19 Years
Navigating the Covid years were challenging especially for the heroes that worked in healthcare. We produced this package to recognize the entire staff and show appreciation for their dedication to care.
